ARC DOME WILDERNESS, Nevada, May 2015

JayFlight's home for a few days in the campground

Peavine Campground and Sandy

hiking Peavine Canyon

Peavine Mountain in the distance

Lots of springs in the mountains

The rain has been coming for two hours

Walking the road back to the campground, the Sequoia is stuck in the mud

Peavine Campground with Bill and Matt Karren

Hiking Tom's Canyon to Trail Creek

We encountered rain off and on

That didn't stop the dogs

Looks like an old warming shed

Old trough in the foreground and the ridgeline in the background

Climbing up to the ridge

Just one of many snowcapped peaks in the area

The wind was howling on the ridge

The southern end of Arc Dome Wilderness

Lunch finally

The weather clears and what a beautiful afternoon

Sunday 5/24/15 hiking Horse Canyon

Again the rain comes to keep us cool

"Hurry up, Kylee!"

Remains of a mercury and gold mine

We guessed this was food storage for the miners

Inside the food storage structure

Lunch break. It started to hail when we finished

This tin shed was really dry inside

Old pipes leading from a strip mine

Bricks made in the area with old mortar still attached

Horse canyon

Walking back through the thickets in the springs

One...

Two...

Three tired dogs!
